Cadet leader appeal

City of London Police are looking for Volunteer Cadet Leaders to teach young people life skills, how to support policing initiatives and how to give something back to the community. If you are aged 19 or over, have skills that you believe are relevant and are happy to undergo police vetting procedures, then this could be for you, the central London force says.

More than 30 youngsters now actively involved, hence there is a need for more volunteer leaders. In the run up to Christmas the volunteer cadets were out in plain clothes to make ‘age-related test purchases’ on a number of City licensed premises as part of an educational initiative aimed at licensees. Over the New Year, the Cadets were on the streets property-marking 70 bikes as part of the TfL Exchanging Places events – a cyclist road safety initiative.
