BC Days

by msecadm4921

As business continuity management (BCM) resources are cut, and senior management distracted by other issues, the threats and challenges to businesses continue to multiply.

The fourth annual BCM conference from BSI British Standards will demonstrate, organisers say, how improved business continuity management (BCM) can help businesses survive in the current economic climate.

Improving Business Continuity Management
BS 25999 and Beyond: May 12 to14 at 1 Whitehall Place, London

The 2009 conference programme features streamed sessions and case studies relevant to individual sectors and industries. This provides delegates with more targeted learning, enhanced sharing of expertise and greater networking opportunities, addressing the real business challenges faced by BCM managers right now.

Speakers include representatives from the Business Continuity Institute, Deloitte LLP and Aon, and case studies will be presented by the Department of Health, West Sussex County Council and BAA Glasgow Airport.

The pre-conference workshop Your BC plans and BS 25999 – Where to start is designed to build confidence in those considering, or about to commence, implementing and maintaining BS 25999 within their organisation.  The post-conference workshop How to effectively exercise and test your BC plan will focus on testing and exercising an organisation’s BCM plans. While this is aimed at more experienced BC professionals, many delegates will find both workshops to be of use.

Who should attend?

This conference will be relevant to:

*BC professionals
*IT directors
*Risk and quality managers
*Senior directors of SMEs
*Disaster recovery and emergency managers
*Compliance officers
*Health and Safety managers
*Facilities and operations managers
*Certification bodies and auditors.
