by Mark Rowe

The Cyber Growth Partnership, in association with The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and techUK, is supporting a new UK Cyber Security Innovation zone at the Infosecurity Europe 2015 show. The event runs from June 2 to 4, 2015 at Olympia, west London, pictured. The zone is being used to showcase 11 Small Innovative UK Cyber Security Businesses.

The organisers have announced a national competition to search for 11 exemplars to win a three metre furnished stand to exhibit in the innovation zone and have the opportunity to be awarded the title of UK’s most innovative small cyber security company of the year.

Gordon Morrison, Director Tech for Government at techUK said: “We’re looking forward to seeing creative solutions from some of the UK’s most innovative small businesses. The cyber industry is an important market for the UK, and we’re excited to be working with BIS and InfoSec to support its growth. This competition is a great opportunity for small businesses to get expert advice and meet with potential partners and customers at the exhibition.”

The selection process includes a pitch event in London on April 27, where selected companies will present before a panel of industry judges selected by the organisers and an industry audience. The top three companies selected will participate in a pitch-off event on June 4, on the main stage during InfoSec. The competition will focus on businesses with innovative or disruptive technology or services, in these areas:

· Endpoint Security
· Network Security
· Mobile Security
· Application Security
· Cloud Security
· Managed Security
· Web Security
· SCADA Security
· Data Security
· Payment Security
· Professional Services
