Vertical Markets

Irish launch

Retailers Against Crime Ireland (RACI) are launching at an event in Dublin on October 17. A buffet lunch will be provided on the day and there will be opportunities for networking with other retailers and service providers. Contact: Donie O’Callaghan.

In 1997, several retailers from London saw the potential to develop a national information-sharing scheme in Scotland to detect and deter criminals impacting on their business profitability. Today, RAC (Retailers Against Crime) operates in Scotland, Northern Ireland and England sharing information to some 2500 contacts. RAC is a not for profit organisation managed and funded by its members with offices in Stirling, Carlisle, Dublin, Lisburn in Northern Ireland, and London.

Organisers make the point that it is proven that organised teams and individuals who impact on store profitability travel extensively to areas where they are less likely to be recognised. Hence RAC are firmly convinced of the benefits to retailers which can be delivered through the development of RAC in Ireland.
