Tunisian border

by Mark Rowe

More than 900 units of the DefenCell MAC range of geotextile lined metal gabions have recently been delivered to the Tunisian authorities for deployment on the Tunisian Libyan border. It’s part of Tunisia’s efforts to secure the border between the two countries.

DefenCell MAC gabions, pictured, are filled with earth, sand or other locally available fill materials and provide ballistic protection, walls and HVM vehicle barriers and meet the NATO and US DOD (Department of Defense) standards.

DefenCell MAC is made to tested standards by Maccaferri, the manufacturer of gabion structures, using heavily galvanised welded mesh panels and corner coils combined with a geotextile lining material created from UV resistant polymer fibre using the same technology as the DEFENCELL fabrics.
