Pandemic response toolkits for comms

by Mark Rowe

A company offering a mass communication system for crisis response and company announcements, has created a series of pandemic response toolkits. They’re for customers to reach employees and stakeholders with critical messages and company announcements, as offices reopen and furloughed staff return to work.

Crises Control, which is developed by IT services provider, Transputec, provides customers with a communications platform which can also be used to monitor employee health and wellbeing using a survey facility. Data on employee health and well-being is then stored in an uneditable format. As the product firm says, as the end of the furlough scheme in the UK is in sight, and as remote workers already return to the office, employee safety from Covid-19 remains a concern for businesses.

Also impacted by Covid-19 have been trade and supply chains. Crises Control says that its product enables affected businesses to keep employees and customers informed of issues or disruptions to the supply of products or services. The incident pandemic toolkits include pre-prepared incident response messages which can be deployed to all employees, suppliers and others; should there be a sudden outbreak or localised lockdown, for example. The toolkits also contain recommended protocols to facilitate the return to work.

Shalen Sehgal, Managing Director, Crises Control says: “As lockdown measures ease and the government’s furlough scheme slowly draws to a close, a key concern for businesses is how to maintain employee safety as staffers return to office spaces. This starts with ensuring that reliable announcements can be quickly communicated to entire workforces at the push of a button.

“Regardless of the severity of the message, workers, stakeholders and suppliers require access to a platform which facilitates access to information and announcements that they know they can trust. In the age of social media, reliable information can be hard to come by, and with millions of workers coming out of furlough, or expected to return to the office on at least a semi-flexible basis, many will be in the dark about what is expected of them, or what the protocols are for their safe return to work.”
