Lone worker device accredited

by Mark Rowe

The Merseyside-based healthcare and security provider Sefton Arc has had their ArcAngel lone worker device accredited by Secured by Design (SBD), having achieved the UK official Police Preferred Specification. ArcAngel uses GPS and mobile phone functions to provide a solution for anyone who needs support whether in the home or when out and about as a lone worker.

At the press of a button, the device is connected to their 24 hours ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre), where operators can hear, assess and record whatever situation is developing and respond. An employer and employee can also keep in touch via the product, without the need for a separate mobile phone. A roll call service is offered for manned guards giving a bespoke roster or routine call service.

The equipment offers GPS positioning, a ‘man down’ facility, red and amber alerts, two way communication and a recording facility.

SBD Development Officer Hazel Goss said: “Sefton Arc has been with Secured by Design since 2016 and they do a very unique product called “ArcAngel” a lone worker-vulnerable person device. This device has helped many people in different situations and I am very pleased that they have renewed contracts with Secured by Design for another three years. I am looking forward to working with them for many years to come.”

And Dave Ellison of Sefton Arc said: “It is important in today’s market to have an accreditation that actually gives clients some real peace of mind.”

Sefton Arc also has National Security Inspectorate (NSI), Telecare Services Association (TSA) and SIA Approved Contractor (ACS) accreditations; and offers other services, such as disaster recovery.
