by Mark Rowe

Rapiscan Systems, Inc, the US supplier of security inspection products, reports that the company has received an order for about $15 million from a Middle East customer. It’s to supply multiple units of its Rapiscan Eagle M60, pictured, mobile X-ray cargo and vehicle inspection product.

Rapiscan Systems President, Ajay Mehra said: “We are excited about the opportunity to support this key customer in an important strategic geographic region. With its rapid deployment and advanced inspection capabilities, Eagle M60 not only offers advanced level of threat detection, but it also improves customer operational effectiveness.”

The product firm describes its Eagle M60 as a road-mobile cargo and vehicle inspection system that can be deployed at a port, checkpoint or border crossing in less than 20 minutes, it is claimed. It features transmission X-rays that can identify the presence of hidden contraband, such as weapons, explosives and narcotics. The product can also be configured to detect radioactive material and can operate in drive-by or drive-through portal mode, the makers add.
