Terror expo date

Organisers of Counter Terror Expo have announced a record attendance for the show: 8,519, on April 25 and 26. There they saw; 400 exhibiting companies, five conference streams, 12 workshops and demonstrations, showcases and numerous private meetings. Counter Terror Expo 2013 is due to run again in Olympia, London, on April 24 and 25.

 

 

The overall figure is the largest in the event’s history, a 9.9pc increase on 2011. Event Director Philip Hunter said: “hreats to the safety of the public at large continue to threaten us and dominate the news headline: from the Al Qaeda terrorist attacks in Syria this week; to the announcement that the “Underwear bomber” has been stopped; to Anders Breivik’s court case in Norway; the analysis and prevention of these sorts of events is the entire raison d’être behind Counter Terror Expo. We gather world-leading experts in the field of counter terrorism together annually, to showcase, discover and debate current and emerging issues and solutions and determine necessary counter measures moving forward. Beating the terrorist threat is a collaborative process and Counter Terror Expo exists to foster close cooperation amongst the principal agencies, organisations and industry suppliers responsible for the wellbeing of the public.” Speakers included:

 

Dr Jamie Shea, Deputy ASG, Emerging Security Challenges Division, NATO; Charles Farr, Director General, Office for Security and Counter Terrorism, Home Office; Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Hyde, Lead on e-Crime Prevention, Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and President of the Society for the Policing of Cyberspace; Sue Hemming, Head of the Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS); and Eugene Kaspersky, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Kaspersky Lab.

 

Lord West of Spithead hosted a VIP and Delegation programme, which saw over 100 VIPs, including international delegations from; Canada, Belgium, Russia, Netherlands, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, NATO, Norway, European ECSA and Pakistan.  The VIPs participated in hosted tours of the show, the Meet the Buyer Programme and our VIP lunch hosted by Lord West.
