Silverstone doors

by Mark Rowe

Pull door handles from Alpro are being used on office buildings at Silverstone Business Park. The park stands beside the Silverstone Circuit, the venue for the British Grand Prix.

The handles are Alpro’s Functional 97 pull handles which cater the firm says for a broad user base since their wide diameter (38mm) makes them suitable for general users and those who may have an impaired ability to grip.

These stainless steel handles can be satin anodised, satin stainless, polished stainless, powder coated or nylon coated. The handles are supplied with bolt-thru or back-to-back fixing and an F27 fixing kit as standard.

The Functional 97 series pull handles can be used in pair or single arrangement. A user can have an offset bracket that allows staff keyed access to the premises without obstruction from the throw of the handle.

For standard finishes the lead-time can be as little as two days though tailored finishes require more notice. The product firm can do precise colour matching to a client’s livery.

Keith Parry, Sales Director at Alpro, said: “The sleek lines of these pull handles reflect the fact that fabricators now take account of every detail that contributes to the aesthetic appeal of a building. Silverstone Business Park is a centre of engineering excellence and we’re proud to be contributing to its appearance.”

The Alpro handles at Silverstone have been fitted on doors created by Ridgeway Glazing Limited who cover the UK from their purpose-built factory base in Gloucester. Specialisms include thermally broken curtain walling, windows and doors as well as automatic entrance screens and solar shading. Recent work includes a £1.2m project for McLaren Construction at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s training academy.
