Safe range

by Mark Rowe

The physical security product supplier Securikey has extended the Mini Vault safe range with the Mini Vault 3, which offers a wider interior space. According to the firm, it’s for storing till drawers in a retail environment or large binders of important documents in domestic or commercial applications, in addition to cash, jewellery and other valuables.

The Mini Vault 3 Silver and Gold ranges, like other models in the Mini Vault range, has been through testing that demonstrates these safes can withstand different types of attack in an array of settings, the firm says. These independent tests also confirm that the product meets high European standards.

Securikey has also launched point of sale materials to enable retailers to better explain the safe range to locksmiths and enabling them to choose the best model for an application. There’s a leaflet, that the retailer can apply their own branding to, two template ads on the key points of each range and a display stand so locksmiths can see for themselves what they are buying.

The Mini Vault 3FR Gold offers double walled construction, which includes a fire resistant barrier material that protects its contents from heat in the event of a fire and gives these safes a higher £4000 overnight cash cover (equating to £40,000 in valuables). The Mini Vault 3 Silver offers £3000 overnight cash cover (or £30,000 in valuables). Insurance ratings may vary depending on risk and location; the company advises that you check with your insurers.

With its chrome plated bolt cups, all Mini Vaults offer a 4mm solid steel outer body and an 8mm anti-bludgeon door. This can be fitted with a choice of three locks, including those that are tested to Env1300, and customers can choose from the VdS Class 1 key lock, the EDL77 or Primor electric locks. The soft foam insert protects valuables from damage, as does the fully lined interior and an adjustable jewellery shelf if desired.

The vaults come with bolts supplied for rear or floor fixing. Securikey has membership of the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) and ESSA. Ring Securikey on 01252 311888, email [email protected] or visit the new website at securikey.co.uk.
