Retransfer card printer

by Mark Rowe

At the Security Essen show in Germany last month, Magicard launched Ultima, its retransfer card printer. The printer firm says this completes the Magicard portfolio of products and adds a top-end end solution to its range of direct to card printers.

Ultima is the firm says the only retransfer printer which gives users the facility to print bespoke HoloKote watermarks. The printer comes pre-loaded with ten HoloKote images and users can specify extra, custom watermarks of their logo, a word or other custom element. Magicard pioneered HoloKote and Ultima will remain the only retransfer printer which can use this patented system.

With an intuitive touch-screen, Ultima’s processing unit facilitates the printing of up to 100 full colour cards per hour. The company says users can identify photographs on ID cards for comparison against the holder, making the product a solution the manufacturer says for printing drivers’ licences, national ID cards and other cards.

Ultima is available to purchase in Europe through the company’s top-tier partner network. The device will be available through partners in Asia and the Americas from dates to be announced over the next eight weeks. Magicard is phasing the introduction of Ultima region-by-region to allow for a ramp-up in production. Visit www.magicard.com.
