Ranges at Ecobuild show

by Mark Rowe

ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions launched new product ranges at this year’s Ecobuild show. The realigned ranges offer grouped products defined by vertical markets – from education, to health and commercial the firm says.

Forming part of a growing specification toolkit, the selection of products for each range has been informed by in-situ testing data, after research by ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, which included installation of cycle-counters within real-life applications.

In providing more information at the capital investment stage, the company says that it can now provide a clearer indication of the expected life cycle of a hardware component in each typical application – providing a reliable cost model for FM (facilities) managers for the operational period and beyond.

Andy Stolworthy, Product Manager for ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, said: “Our fresh approach to specification has been motivated by the changes in the construction market, such as Construction 2025 and the increasing use of BIM, which are driving specifiers to focus much more on Whole Life Costing (WLC) and product performance.

“From primary school classrooms to hospital corridors, our data – coupled with our knowledge of the unique challenges in each vertical market – has helped us to understand typical product usage, and allowed us to deliver informed product ranges to our specifier customers.”

ASSA ABLOY’s DoorXpert app, also aids specification by determining the correct class of door needed, based on its usage and according to BS EN 1191 and BS EN 12400, and is available to download on iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices and is also available at http://www.doorxpert.com/
