Property marking section chair

by Mark Rowe

Selectamark’s Managing Director James Brown has been elected chairman of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Asset and Property Marking (APM) section. After its Annual General Meeting, on Wednesday, July 15, the BSIA elected new chairmen and vice chairmen to serve its sections of membership.

James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA, said: “The BSIA is very proud of its membership community, and the great contributions that they make to the private security industry. The development of the private security industry is largely due to its members’ dedication to their work and their commitment to progress the sector.”

The chance to serve as APM section chairman has come at an opportune time for James Brown. Selectamark is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and as an asset marking company has distributors in more than 40 countries. It produces the Selectamark range of asset marking products, the SelectaDNA range of forensic marking products, and owns and maintains Bikeregister, the UK’s national cycle database.

James Brown, pictured, said: “I am very much looking forward to engaging with fellow members at our quarterly meetings and to sharing best practice and exploring new possibilities for the Asset and Property Marking section. As chairman, I will also be representing the APM section on the Council and putting forward new ideas we have discussed to help further the private security sector. I am both excited and honoured to be taking up this position.”
