Perimeter name change

by Mark Rowe

Perimeter security and access control product company Jacksons Fencing is changing its name to Jacksons, with effect from January 2013. The company, which last year marked its 65th anniversary, has its roots in the timber fencing market, but has since diversified.

Jacksons now designs, manufactures and installs steel and timber perimeter security and access control products, for the residential and commercial markets. Sectors covered include colleges; mental health; railways; prisons; housing developments; data centres; equestrian centres; commercial developments and high security government sites (including MoD and embassies).

On the name change, CEO Richard Jackson, pictured, says: “As a business Jacksons has changed significantly since its inception in 1947 and we felt that by continuing to use the original Jacksons Fencing terminology, we were potentially limiting ourselves to being recognised purely as a fencing supplier. In reality, the Jacksons portfolio now spans a very broad range of product categories and in addition to this, as a result of our in-house experience and expertise, we have also established an excellent reputation for developing entirely bespoke solutions to a client’s perimeter security / access control needs. Regardless of the name change, the founding philosophy of the company – to deliver a superior quality product supported by an unsurpassed standard of customer care – remains the same. Going forward, we intend to continue to drive awareness of the key benefits associated with buying into the Jacksons brand which can now be evidenced worldwide, from the gardens of Kent to an embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.”
