Physical Security

Panel partner

by Mark Rowe

The security panel manufacturer Securiclad is seeking new markets through a new partnership with the physical security product company Burton Safes.

Securiclad is to supply Burton Safes with its modular composite panel systems, which provide a security solution to Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175 Security Rating (SR) 5 and are approved for Government use by the Centre for the Protection Of National Infrastructure (CPNI).

Burton Safes, which operates across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, is a supplier of safes, strong boxes, secure storage and access control systems.

Securiclad adds that its panels are designed and manufactured to withstand determined attempts at forced entry using the kind of top-of-the-range, high-powered cutting tools employed by fire and rescue personnel. The firm has also achieved European EN1063 BR4 certification, which means that the panels can withstand the firepower of a large bore 0.44 Magnum weapon. Securiclad say that their products are for the protection of areas containing high value items and cash, servers, sensitive data, control equipment, hazardous substances and pharmaceuticals.

Mike McColl, managing director of Securiclad, pictured, said: “Burton Safes is a true leader in the physical security field and a company with vast experience in providing security solutions to both domestic and overseas markets. We are proud to be working with Burton Safes and it’s testimony to our innovative design team and cutting-edge qualities of our products that they will now be used by Burton Safes in protecting financial institutions and government facilities at home and abroad. This deal represents a major success for Securiclad and we look forward to working with Burton Safes for many years to come.”

And Ben Lewis, director of Burton Safes, added: “We are delighted to have found this innovative and flexible solution from Securiclad. We have been searching for something like this for the last two to three years and we believe that the product has great potential.”

Securiclad adds that its products, made in North Tyneside, can be used in new buildings or retro-fitted to a site, and they are pre-finished, negating the need for wet trade requirements. The panels have internal and external applications and can be used to form a standalone ‘room’, kiosk or partition, making them ideal for use in co-location premises. Visit www.securiclad.co.uk.
