Modular panel growth

by Mark Rowe

The security modular panel systems manufacturer Securiclad reports that its sales rose by 58 per cent in 2016, its highest ever increase in sales. The firm based in North Tyneside says last year it secured major contracts in the data centre, water utilities, nuclear and defence sectors. The physical security product is in use against the threats of terrorism, theft and vandalism, and certified to Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175 Security Rating (SR) 4; and approved for UK Government use by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI). They are in use in the data centre, government, utilities, military, nuclear, healthcare and financial sectors.

Securiclad also extended its international reach in 2016: for example, panel systems from Securiclad were employed by Burton Safes as part of a security solution for Royal England Safe Deposit Box Limited – a Hong Kong-based company that provides high-end safe deposit box facilities.

Securiclad can be used in new buildings or retro-fitted to an existing site and is pre-finished, negating the need for hot and wet trade requirements. The modular panels have internal and external applications and can be used to form a stand-alone ‘room’, kiosk or partition.

Mike McColl, pictured, managing director of Securiclad, said: “Government organisations, utilities companies, infrastructure providers and many other businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the need for hardened physical security, a ‘last line of defence’ to prevent unauthorised access by terrorists, thieves and vandals – and are requiring this to be incorporated into the design stages of new projects, or to be easily added in order to reinforce security in existing structures.

“Our modular panel systems have been designed to be used in multiple scenarios where high security is paramount, and the increased demand for our products demonstrates that many organisations now view traditional building measures, such as brick and concrete, as too weak or disruptive for their requirements, and see physical security certification as an important factor in making a purchasing decision.”

The products can also be supplied fully assembled as a smaller kiosk, guard hut or small storage space.
