Meesons at International Security Expo

by Mark Rowe

Among the exhibitors at the 2018 International Security Expo were the Secured by Design member company, Meesons, showing their Security Portal range to specifiers and buyers, at London Olympia.

Meesons recently became the first company in the UK to achieve Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175: Issue 7 for their C190-S1 to S3 and C3-S1 to S3 Security Portals (Security Ratings one to three). They are designed to provide controlled access that can withstand physical attack for building entrances.

Iain Entwistle, Product Marketing Manager at Meesons A.I. Ltd said after the event: “We had a significant amount of interest in our LPS 1175 Security Portals at this year’s Security Expo. Gaining LPS 1175 and Secured by Design now means specifiers can select Security Portals in the knowledge that they offer a very elegant, refined and robust entrance control solution. That seems to be a proposition that resonated with visitors to our stand.”

Meesons’ C190-S1 to S3 and C3-S1 to S3 Security Portals can operate as an interlocking door to counter tail-gating or as a entrance, allowing the transit of multiple people at the same time. The C190 Security Portal is configurable for transit modes, day or night and has a 1200mm wide cabin entrance, suitable for wheelchair access, making it an alternative to revolving doors, the product manufacturers say.

Meesons C3 Cylindrical Security Portal is an interlock that provides 860mm wide access and is designed for areas where there is a higher level of throughput. The C3 Security Portal can be customised to a bi-parting four-door or standard two-door configuration.

To meet the Loss Prevention Certification Board LPS1175 standards involved technical evaluation and quality audit processes, which go on over time to ensure the Security Portals continue to achieve the required level of protection.

Meesons have a number of Security Portals accredited by Secured by Design after having achieved the requirements of the Police Preferred Specification standard, which is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security related products in the UK.
