Locks for showroom

by Mark Rowe

The locksmiths CaleyLock Edinburgh date from 1973; the current owners took it over in 2011 and moved into their new, purpose-built premises in December 2017. CaleyLock install and commission as well as build cylinders and padlocks in-house and their main customers are utilities, commercial, high-end residential, banking, councils and leisure.

When preparing to move to their new premises, they sought security of their premises, and to create a showroom for customers. CaleyLock worked together with the door locking and physical security product company Abloy UK to install CLIQ around the premises to secure a number of external and internal doors.

That product gives the ability to change access rights for people such as employees, and monitor the access to restricted areas. A lost or stolen key can be deleted from the system. CaleyLock have a CLIQ Showroom to demonstrate PROTEC2 CLIQ from Abloy to customers and users at work.

Ross McKay, Director of CaleyLock Edinburgh said: “We find CLIQ is working really well for us, as our new premises are purpose built – there were no locks installed initially so this has been a great upgrade to the security. As part of the system, we also have a low energy Bluetooth key which is ideal for people working in remote areas as we can see from the audit trail who has accessed specific sites, and when.”
