At Marshalls, a UK hard landscaping manufacturer, Roger Knight has joined as Head of New Product Development and Engineering for Landscape Protection. The firm is sees an increase in market demand for Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM).

Roger, pictured, was five years as Engineering and Innovation Manager at the bollard and safety barrier product company ATG Access, where he was heavily involved with developing automated HVM security products for critical national infrastructure and utility companies.

Earlier he was Operations Manager for the gate and barrier manufacturer APT where he assisted in developing the first UK crash test standards, PAS 68/69, with the UK official Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI).

Marshalls’ Landscape Protection product line consists of street furniture including benches, planters, litter bins, cycle stands and bollards, made to PAS 68/69 and IWA 14.1/14.2 standards. The firms says these are used to create safe, attractive spaces that protect the public, while integrating into the surrounds.

Jaz Vilkhu, Managing Director for Landscape Protection at Marshalls, said: “Roger’s experience and expertise in developing innovative products will play a key role in building on the double-digit growth we achieved last year. The terrorist threat has evolved significantly over the past few years and an increasing number of organisations in the public and private sectors are starting to see the value in installing long-term, aesthetic solutions for protecting heavily populated areas.”
