Hotel chain locks for Kurdistan

by Mark Rowe

Jackloc reports the firm’s first order from an Iraq hotel for its safety locks. When the new luxury Sheraton Dohuk Hotel opens in Iraqi Kurdistan in June, the Jackloc will be fitted to 70 of its bedroom windows, for safety and security by restricting the opening of windows with a flexible cable attachment.

During the past few years, the company reports that it’s expanded into the international market, supplying its locks to South Africa, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Mexico. Hotel chain, Sheraton, could lead to exciting new opportunities for Jackloc as it continues its rapid growth.

Jackloc is in use in hotels in the UK and abroad, from Travelodge to the Ritz. They are also used in schools and universities, hospitals and care homes, student rooms and high-rise flats.

The window restrictor reduces the risk of falls from open windows by only allowing them to be opened to a safe degree. A key can be used to release the flexible cable if they need to opened wider. The locks can be fitted to any type of window, whether wooden, metal or UPVC, as well as to doors.

Sarhang Bajalan from Brilliant Role Group, which is developing the hotel, said: “We are really pleased with the Jackloc window restraints used in the Sheraton Dohuk. Jackloc has ensured fast and effective delivery.”

Emma Wells, Director of Jackloc, said: “Securing this order in a new export market is very exciting for us. We are delighted that a product which has been designed and manufactured in the Midlands is being fitted in a new prestigious hotel in Iraq. Sheraton has hotels in 70 countries across the globe so we hope that this may be the start of further international expansion for Jackloc.”
