Strathclyde Police were appealing for witnesses after a cash in transit robbery in Glasgow city centre on Saturday, February 4. Around 7.30am on Saturday, two G4S security men were making a delivery to Tesco on Trongate, when the suspect came up to one of the men, threatened him and then made off with one of the money cassettes which contained an as yet unknown sum of cash.

A nearby delivery driver gave chase chase and the man dropped the box  then made off on his bike. The suspect is described as white and 20 to 30 years of age. He was wearing a light-grey, hooded jumper, dark grey woolen hat, dark grey jogging trousers and black or dark-coloured trainers.  He may have been cycling a bike before the incident took place.

Detective Constable MacRitchie of City Centre Police Office said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to gather more information on this robbery and the man responsible and officers are currently studying CCTV footage in an effort to identify the man responsible.”
