Gate Safe, the charity seeking to improve standards of safety for automated gates, reports that Secured by Design – the UK police scheme for ‘designing out crime’ – is to join the charity’s roster of official supporters. References to Gate Safe will feature on the Secured by Design Design Guides for Homes, Schools and Commercial premises.

Established in 1989, Secured by Design is owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and focuses on the design and security for new and refurbished homes, commercial premises and car parks, as well as acknowledging quality security products and crime prevention projects.

Gate Safe will be exhibiting at the Secured by Design National Training event in Stratford Upon Avon on February 25 and 26, 2014. The event’s a national forum for professional development and update training for ALOs (Architectural Liaison Officers) and CPDAs (Crime Prevention Design Advisors).

Other Gate Safe supporters include: Electrical Safety Council, Electrical Contractor’s Association, Safety Assessment Federation, RoSPA, School SafetyMARK, IOSH (Institution Occupational Safety and Health) and ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme).
