Embassy mock-up on show

by Mark Rowe

A fictional embassy secured by integrated perimeter protection from Zaun Group was a mock-up at the 2016 Security & Policing (S&P) show.

The ‘embassy’ was built with input from the Metropolitan Police’s Security Liaison Unit and Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection, which advises on protection of embassies and other diplomatic missions. The aim of the fencing and perimeter product company; to give a realistic impression of the security elements deployed to protect diplomats and their buildings.

Stand staff staged mock scenarios including a security lock-down to make the live experience more realistic at the annual UK security show at the FIVE venue in Farnborough from March 8 to 10. The invite-only event is for police, law enforcers and security, civil protection and national resilience managers.

The Zaun Group’s stand (B47) housed a working demonstration including an SR2 rated gate, electric fencing, PIDs (perimeter intrusion detection), CCTV and video analytics, prison mesh and post systems with razor coil toppings.

Featured were Zaun’s most intruder-resistant fencing, ArmaWeave, FST prison toppings from Binns, electric fencing and PIDs from Harper Chalice and multi-megapixel and HD video evidence from a series of HD CCTV cameras recorded and managed by EyeLynx’s SharpView intelligent video surveillance system.
