Door entry kits

by Mark Rowe

The new range of IP Door Entry Video Kits from Videx is on offer from the electronic security product distributor Norbain. The Reading-based firm says these kits have been introduced in response to market demands from installers and users alike for door entry that uses Internet Protocol (IP) compatibility.

These kits allow home owners and businesses to use IP for security and access control by using ethernet points or WiFi to connect computers, tablets and other devices to servers and the internet. Once connected, these devices can be used to control door entry, offering the companies say convenience, flexibility and multi-user options.

Using the Videx 4000 Series door entry panel, the kits can include up to 64 call buttons and include a colour camera, with infra-red illumination and a back-lit name window. A wide angle (101 degrees vertical, 170 degrees horizontal) camera option is also available. A dedicated button calls the apartment videophone and provides two way full duplex speech and video communication.

These door entry panels are available in both flush and surface mounting options. Modular in design, they can be customised to include options such as coded access, proximity access, finger print access, extra buttons and information modules. The entrance panel requires a 12Vdc supply and CAT 5 network cable.
