Theam Security Ltd has renewed its membership with Secured by Design (SBD). Based in the West Midlands, and founded in 1992, the firm offers door and window security and access control. Theam are suppliers to schools, local government and police, supplying and installing locks, roller shutters, concertina grilles, burglar bars, steel security doors, anti-vandal screens and security cages. SBD Development Officer Hazel Goss said: “I have known Theam Security for a long time, first working with them when I was a police Designing Out Crime Officer [DOCO] and so it has been a real joy to be working with them again as a the local SBD Development Officer. It’s fantastic that they are continuing their affiliation with us.”

Having seen installations in the past with logo’s indicating an SBD/LPCB product is fitted. Only to find after closer inspection, it had too few or inappropriate fixings for the substrate, or in some cases the wrong product specified. I felt that some kind of standard should be in place for installation, so customers could feel confident that the products they had purchased would do the job required.
