Body armour CEO takes a bullet in video

by Mark Rowe

If you believe in the products you sell, you use them yourself; you ‘eat your own dog food’. Robert Kaiser of PPSS Group doesn’t sell dog food – he supplies body armour; and on Youtube videos he is filmed taking a bullet in the body, saved by body armour; and (separately) takes blows from knives, large and mean-looking sticks and a syringe.

After taking the bullet, Robert (he’s pictured right) said: “It certainly did hurt; it hurt a lot. Would I suffer severe bruising for a couple of days? Yes.” But as he added, the point of body armour is not necessarily to prevent any harm, but to give a ‘high chance you are going home’ from work, whether as a security guard or loss prevention or close protection officer; to allow you to still function in what will probably be a highly charged situation if you are faced by guns or knives.

As PPSS CEO he’s produced product demo videos over the past few years, and now wanted with the latest production to truly highlight his body armour’s performance. He said: “Our mission statement is ‘to protect frontline professionals from human threats’ and this new video is once again physical evidence on what our body armour are really capable of. Our objective is to protect and maybe even save the lives of those who protect us and serve their countries, and body armour made by PPSS Group will precisely do that.”

The firm’s stab resistant vests, as featured in the video, offer protection from blunt force trauma and shellfire. They are now being issued to several international homeland security agencies, such as the prison service, border control, immigration and customs, as well as privately owned security and facility management firms.

PPSS Group is based in the UK but its body armours can be purchased via international licensed distribution partners or their head office in North Yorkshire.
