Pet detector

GJD, the UK manufacturer of external detector equipment, has launched its external D-TECT Pet Immune. The new product has two passive infra-red detectors (PIRs), microwave, anti-masking and a built in anti-sway system.

The D-TECT Anti-Pet, pictured, will only detect an intrusion when both PIRs and the microwave are triggered at once, providing resistance to unwanted alarms, the product company says. Applications include residential or commercial outdoor areas where pets and other animals roam the firm adds. Mark Tibbenham, GJD’s Managing Director said: “D-TECT Pet Immune provides precise detection, whilst eliminating nuisance alarms. The detector is easy to install and is suitable for all weather conditions.”

The detector is designed to provide immunity for animals weighing up to 30kg. Features include covert detection, adjustable field of view and a selectable detection range up to 15 metres. The product has built in anti-sway, which is a filter designed to differentiate between an intruder and the movement of wind or swaying foliage. This provides detection and reduces false alarms in the most challenging outdoor places, according to the firm.

The product has integral masking curtains and an adjustable sensor module, which enables installers to align the detector’s field of view to match the camera and associated lighting. The product is compliant with industry regulations and comes in a weather-proof design, the makers add.
