Accessories for panic exit devices

by Mark Rowe

UNION has launched a new range of accessories for its ExiSAFE panic exit devices (PEDs), for use the manufacturer says in public and commercial buildings.

Designed, tested and made in the UK, the new accessories add to the range of doors that can be fitted with the devices, says the arm of physical security product manufacturer Assa Abloy, while also helping with maintenance of installations. The new accessories include extended length shoot bolts for doors up to 3100mm, replacement parts for outside access devices, keeps for door materials, service items for panic and latch models, and alarm connectors for bolts.

Like the ExiSAFE range, the accessories have seen testing of over 200,000 cycles, assessment by third parties, and checks to ensure the products comply with relevant standards for timber and metal fire doors. The accessories range meets BS EN 179 or BS EN 1125 for assured security and safety, while also being independently accredited by Certifire and CE Marked as standard. The accessories range comes with a ten-year guarantee.

Alison Aston, Category Manager for PEDs and Hardware, says: “Our new range of accessories perflectly complement our leading ExiSAFE solutions. Offering PEDs that people can rely on no matter what, these new accessories are guaranted to fit applications perfectly, extend the reach of our ExiSAFE products and offer a long-lasting solution to both public and commercial environments.”
