5700 series lockcase

by Mark Rowe

Briton has launched its 5700 series lockcase, a euro profile cylinder mortice lockcase. The product is dimensionally compatible with the manufacturer’s 5400 series and available with round and square forend and strikes. The range offers functions including deadlock, sashlock, escape lock, nightlatch and bathroom lock and latch.

Designed for all medium- to high-use applications, the Certifire accredited 5700 series is made from Grade 316 Stainless Steel and fire tested to EN 1634-1 for use on timber and steel fire doors. A DIN standard mortice lock, the series is suitable the company says for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and buildings with high footfall such as schools or hospitals. The 5700 series also features a 20mm single throw deadbolt, designed for single-turn egress and a reversible latch for on-site handling. The series has CE and UKCA marks to EN 12209 and EN 179.

Sue Corrick, product marketing manager at Allegion UK, says: “Ideal for both first-time installations and retrofit applications, the launch of the new Briton 5700 series lockcase demonstrates Briton’s commitment to its customers – where, through innovation, the brand continues to develop its core values of trust, performance and convenience. We’re proud to invite customers to find out more about what the 5700 series can offer.”

The 5700 series marks the first launch under Briton’s refreshed brand identity, as unveiled earlier this year. The lockcase will come in the company’s new packaging, designed to reduce waste, and the new Briton website provides product information and datasheets. Visit: www.briton.co.uk.
