Thin Client decoder

Aimetis Corp, the US intelligent network video management software firm, has supported the launch its A10D Thin Client decoder with a short video showing how it’s installed. The Thin Client is a secure and cost-effective PC substitute, which decodes 1080p, Full HD video. It has the makers say greater functionality than a traditional decoder, but is it’s claimed cheaper to buy, maintain and install than a PC. The video is available to view at SecurityBuyingGroup.co.uk, the Aimetis UK distributor.

The A10D is compatible with over 30 network video camera brands, supports up to 60 FPS at 1080p in MJPEG, MPEG4 and H.264 formats and has a single HDMI output. It is designed for use in systems using Aimetis Symphony video management software (VMS) or the Aimetis E-Series, Physical Security Appliance.

The product is described as compact at just 175 x 120 x 35mm and said to be suitable for public view monitors in retail applications or video walls in large-scale deployments.

•1080p video decoding from multiple camera brands
•Customised camera layouts
•Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af)
•Anti-theft support with Kensington Security Slot
•USB ports for use with keyboard and mouse
•Browser interface for remote management, including by iPhone and Android
