Thermal camera line

by Mark Rowe

New from the IP CCTV product company DVTEL are ioimage Thermal , a new line of thermal cameras. The cameras are available in fixed and pan-tilt versions.

The ioimage Thermal cameras with associated ioimage video analytics deliver image interpretation and comprehension for customers requiring detection in low-light or zero-light areas, the US firm says. The ioimage Thermal line delivers fixed and pan-tilt configurations in a low-power, lightweight design with multiple lens options, the makers say. Powered by DRS Technologies – a supplier of electro-optical sensor systems, services and support to the military, intelligence agencies and contractors – the cameras can be integrated with systems.

Bundled with ioimage analytics encoders, the cameras are described as automated detection solution for security deployments in critical infrastructure, perimeter security, oil and gas, and transportation markets. The ioimage analytic encoders allow analytics to reduce false alarms while maintaining a high probability of detection, the company says.

The ONVIF Profile-S-compliant ioimage Thermal camera is the first product in the line of edge-based intelligent devices from DVTEL for working in low-light conditions. The infrared detector allows the devices to detect the energy (or heat) that objects, structures and people emit. This approach enables it is claimed a more consistent image than traditional cameras at harsh sites, such as those affected by fog, haze, smog, smoke, rain and extremes in temperature.
Yoav Stern, President and CEO, DVTEL, said: “The ioimage Thermal camera line introduces a new option for customers requiring detection in practically any environment. It delivers reliable surveillance coverage in new and existing surveillance systems at a favorable price point for a variety of applications.”

The new thermal line is compatible with the entire DVTEL IP-based portfolio and is scheduled to be available in early 2014 through DVTEL’s authorised resellers.
