The Canadian manufacturer Genetec has unveiled Security Center 5.3. It’s the latest version of the company’s security system software. New features take in IP video management, access control and automatic number plate recognition.
Security Center 5.3 is expected to be available to Genetec channel partners and end-users in the second quarter of 2015.
With the growing adoption of multi-megapixel cameras and introduction of 4k devices, Security Center 5.3 will the makers say improve system performance when managing high-resolution video streams. Through the use of hardware-accelerated video decoding
With off-the-shelf graphics cards, users can now minimise their need for new workstations, as they deploy higher resolution cameras within their system. Operators will also have the flexibility to view more cameras, at higher resolutions and frame rates, while also seeing greater playback fluidity when reviewing video.
Security Center 5.3 will also introduce an enhanced investigation and video export workflow that simplifies evidence sharing with investigators and law enforcers, the developers say. With a new Incident Recording feature, operators will be able to record video sequences from multiple cameras to storyboard an incident from beginning to end, and then export them into a single video clip for review by others. Exported incidents can be reviewed in the enhanced Genetec Video Player.
