Milestone’s Thai event

Milestone Systems, the Danish IP video management software (VMS) company, held its annual Milestone Partner Open Platform Days (MPOP) conference in Thailand, on May 13 and 14. Technology and channel partners from all over Asia attended. Fourteen companies exhibited in the Technology Showcase, demonstrating integrated solutions.

Benjamin Low, pictured, Vice President of Sales for the Asia Pacific Region, and Sunny Kong, Director of Sales in Asia, welcomed the partners to the event, at Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort. ‘Winning Together – The Power of Partnership’ was the theme.

Managers from Agent Vi, Allied Telesis, Arecont Vision, Axis, EMC, Oracle Corporation, Quantum and Samsung Techwin presented at the event. They gave their opinions on the future of the industry.

Benjamin Low said: “Our business in Asia is poised for strong growth, and we are increasing our investment in the regions. We are focused on supporting our partners in every step they take in winning new business, implementing future-ready solutions and providing advanced services to our mutual customers.”

The Technology Showcase included Milestone Partners exhibiting integrations with the open platform VMS:

Network camera manufacturers Arecont Vision, Axis Communications, Bosch Security, Oncam and Samsung Techwin
IT providers Allied Telesys, EMC, Oracle, Promise Technolgy, Quantum, Seagate and Spectra
Access control vendors Axis Communications and Bosch Security
Analytics from Agent Vi and Ipsotek

Partner awards were announced on the final night to mark the best performance in sales and marketing for the year 2015:

Best Distributor 2014 Asia: Digitalcom Company Ltd, Thailand
Best Reseller 2014 Asia: Omecca Inc., South Korea

The president of Omecca, a system integrator in South Korea, presented a case study on the Goyang Safe City project they implemented, with a Milestone XProtect VMS managing more than 3000 cameras and plans for expansion to more than 5000. This makes it one of the biggest Safe City systems in South Korea. Omecca designed and installed the solution for the local government as part of surveillance centers in all major cities across the country by 2017.
