American Dynamics, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco introduces the Illustra Flex Series of IP cameras. The products offer high-definition 1MP and 3MP video.

Unlike other entry-level IP cameras on the market, the makers say, the high-resolution Illustra Flex box, bullet, and mini-domes (indoor and outdoor) include premium features such as true day/night, 3D dynamic noise reduction (3D DNR), varifocal lenses and triple video streaming to provide video at all light levels while reducing low light storage. The makers add that the cameras can also reduce storage costs for users by employing a mix of true day/night, 3D DNR and auto shutter/frame control work to improve the image quality of low light video while, the makers add, minimising the creation of storage intensive noise.

The product also features motion detection for alerts of intruders, making the cameras suitable it is claimed for retail stores, small bank branches, and other businesses. The bullet and outdoor mini-dome, with IP66-rated enclosures, are for outdoor applications.

Stephan Beckmann, Product Marketing Manager, EMEA for Tyco Security Products, said: “Balancing the requirements of image quality with cost considerations is a key challenge facing many security professionals in smaller businesses. Our new Illustra Flex Series offers features you’d expect in premium cameras plus the absolute essentials like PoE, H.264 compression, and integrated mounts to keep installation and storage costs down.”

All these cameras are compatible with VideoEdge VMS and exacqVision VMS. Plus, the products are ONVIF conformant – earning its ‘Flex’ name by offering compatibility with a number of third-party video management systems (VMS). The cameras can produce up to three simultaneous video streams for flexibility in video storage and display in your VMS.
