Health monitoring software

by Mark Rowe

Exacq Technologies, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco has released the new Enterprise System Manager (ESM). The video management system (VMS) software company describes it as a browser-based health monitoring system for exacqVision video security systems.

The ESM server software monitors the health and status of exacqVision servers and cameras on the network. Users can monitor their exacqVision systems via the intuitive ESM dashboard interface through most web browsers running on a computer or mobile device. With the ESM application, exacqVision users receive an email notification in the event of system errors or warnings. The software features more than 25 user-defined warnings that can be selected including recorder offline, storage warnings, drive failures, temperature alerts and camera disconnected.

The software lets users schedule software updates for hundreds or thousands of recorders during non-peak hours. This minimises business interruptions and reduces software maintenance time, the makers add.

ESM is supported on exacqVision systems with an exacqVision Enterprise VMS license. This includes an IP camera using the exacqVision Edge software, which allows it to operate as both an IP camera and an exacqVision server.
