HD IP dome cameras

by Mark Rowe

Vista has launched the latest VK2 E-Series dome cameras. Building on the VK2 IP range, this new range offers full HD 1080p broadcast quality video.

The cameras are available in a range of form factors including internal and external domes, all with integrated IR making them suitable for a variety of locations. The true day-night lens with IR cut filter ensures HD quality video is available in areas which are not easily viewable with a standard dome the firm says.

The external domes come in vandal resistant housings which are suited according to the company to withstand even the toughest sites including schools, car parks, retail and other external applications.

Each camera’s processing can provide up to 30 images per second across three independent streams, allowing for clear video on live and recorded images. The triple streaming feature means each stream can be set for a different purpose, such as live viewing, recording and optimised for remote mobile apps.

Vista’s Event Boost technology and SD card support are standard, so that network bandwidth and storage are optimised without it is claimed compromising image quality.

Fully ONVIF compliant, the cameras are compatible with Vista’s own range of software and hardware recording solutions as well as other third party manufacturers’ VMS (video management systems) including Mirasys and Milestone Systems.

Bob Forehand, Product Manager of Vista, says: “Our objective was to create a camera range that offered the latest HD 1080p video technology, coupled with the features and build quality our Vista customers have come to expect, all at a price that makes the range highly accessible for the vast majority of applications.”
