Cloud service

by Mark Rowe

Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions company, has launched its Avigilon Blue platform in the UK. The Avigilon Blue cloud service platform provides cloud-based video security recording that lets them remotely monitor and manage sites. Partners can monitor the health of customer sites, update configurations and deploy system updates, all remotely.

Patented Avigilon self-learning video analytics work with almost any IP camera already installed on site. With access to video via the Avigilon Blue Mobile app or a desktop browser, users can verify video clips on site or remotely. A user pays for the product by monthly subscription which can provide a recurring monthly revenue for installers, while end-users have predictable fees for video security services.

Avigilon also offers bandwidth saving the Canadian firm adds; providing users the simplicity of using a standard internet connection, helping keep internet connectivity costs down. The service is aimed at small and medium size businesses. Besides allowing businesses to monitor their own security operations, they can enable third-party remote video monitoring service providers that use monitoring software such as I-View Now or SureView Systems.
