barox at Intersec Dubai

by Mark Rowe

barox Kommunikation AG, the Swiss manufacturer of switches, media converters and IP extenders designed for video applications, is exhibiting on the Milestone Systems stand, K28, at the Intersec Dubai, the annual trade show running from January 19 to 21.

Promoting their range of Powerhaus switches designed to cope with the specific requirements of IP video, visitors to the Milestone stand will be able to see how barox IP switches support installers and end-users. barox will deploy their Milestone plugin and switches integrated into the video management software (VMS) developer’s products, to display how the ‘Smart-barox’ DMS SNMP plug-in can extend the operability of Milestone XProtect VMS.

Allowing installers and operators to manage security networks and connected devices via the Milestone XProtect Smart Client, Smart-barox provides a live graphical overview of network topology, with network information. With Smart-barox, VMS system diagnostic data showing the status of cameras and switches allows pinpointing of network and device issues. It’s suitable according to the firm for general and high-security video surveillance applications, such as at airports, ports, large compounds, borders, prisons, malls and hotels. barox switches feature cyber security and device management.

Rudolf Rohr, barox co-founder and managing partner says: “barox designs all of its products to address the specific demands of video surveillance networks. On the Milestone stand, we’ll be revealing how the Smart-barox Milestone DMS SNMP plug-in allows installers to reduce their equipment redundancy and keep network downtime to an absolute minimum, whilst saving costs by minimising network set-up time and avoidable maintenance journeys to site.”

Staff from barox will be on hand to demonstrate the specialist video switch range, including a GUI demonstration, showing connected device activity and network diagnostics via the Milestone plug-in. Visit https://www.barox.ch/en/.
