WD at IFSEC 2015

by Mark Rowe

WD, a Western Digital company, are showcasing their family of WD Purple hard drives, designed for the surveillance market, at IFSEC 2015, stand F650.

In particular, WD will feature the WD Purple NV, which is a new member of WD’s surveillance video recording family of drives. WD Purple NV is designed the US firm says for larger-scale network video recorder (NVR) surveillance systems using higher hard drive bay counts and greater numbers of attached cameras, which demand more storage capacity. The new drives also enable long video retention periods for analysis and reference, says WD. The makers add that Purple NV is also designed to withstand the demands of always-on digital NVR recording.

Every day of the show at ExCeL in London Docklands will see the WD Purple “Spotlight”; a presentation, which includes WD talking about WD Purple and the new WD Purple NV hard drives. A WD customer will explain a WD Purple case study, plus a Q&A session. WD Purple Spotlight schedule will be:

Tuesday June 16 – 15:00 hours
Wednesday June 17 – 15:00 hours
Thursday June 18 – 11:30 hours and 13:00 hours

Each day WD will hold a raffle for every person leaving their business card on stand F650. The prize draw will be held at the end of each WD Purple Spotlight session and the lucky winner will receive a popular electronic tablet.

WD will have senior members of staff on the stand to discuss the WD Purple and will be on hand to answer questions about its products. Visit www.wd.com.
