Integrated Systems

Video management software

by Mark Rowe

The Grundig VMS (video management software), powered by VDG Sense is designed to run on off-the-shelf, ICT hardware, or on Grundig’s eight, 16 and 24 channel network recorder control and recording packages.

The VMS integrates video security with audio intercom, parking management, access control and intrusion detection systems, the German company says. Intelligent VCA (video content analysis) includes motion detection, SceneR tamper detection, CarR number plate recognition and FaceR face recognition. All can be applied to live video and playback and used for input and output alarm triggering. Features include system-wide event handling; system scalability; tiered user rights; and open-protocol, third party integration using Grundig’s own API.

Multi-server processing is available with fail-over protection. Storage options include RAID and NAS. Viewing is by an intuitive graphic user interface (GUI), video wall or web-client with keyboard, app and joystick control.

The VMS comes in Sense Pro and Sense Basic packages, both offering SceneR and motion detection as standard with web interface, iOS and android client viewing. Sense Basic supports up to three clients with two input-output triggers. The Sense Pro supports up to 128 clients and 500 input-output triggers. Sense Pro packages also support indoor and outdoor object detection, number plate recognition, face recognition, third party integration, fail-over server and flexible video channel licensing.
