Siemens has appointed Steven Foxley as the new Managing Director of Siemens Building Technologies for the UK and Ireland.

Steven, pictured, assumed the role on January 4 and brings with him experience in customer facing roles, as well as business administration, programme performance, project delivery and lifecycle services.

Steven says: “I welcome my new role with great enthusiasm; the UK and Ireland face many challenges with increasing population growth, the need to improve sustainability and pressures to reduce energy costs – all set against a background of keeping the public safe and secure. Building Technologies has an important role to play in meeting these demands, through the provision of products, solutions and services that deliver genuine value to customers, ensuring their facilities are energy efficient, secure and resilient. Through our specialist knowledge and skills in energy management, electronic security and fire safety, our focus is to collaborate and contribute to the improved competitiveness and productivity of our customers, building long term loyalty and lasting partnerships.

“We are witnessing genuine market growth within the UK and Ireland and in order to fully address total customer need we are further developing our enterprise-level command and control platform Desigo CC; this will enable us to deliver smarter working environments through automated decision-making, more efficient workflow procedures and greater convergence across multiple technologies.”

Having worked within Siemens since 2001, Steven has held a number of senior positions in the UK, Austria and China, including his previous roles as Director for Industry Services for the Digital Factory and Process Automation division, Projects Director for the UK Airport and Postal business, and Director for the global Aluminum business segment at Siemens Metals VAI.
