Securitas appointments

by Mark Rowe

The specialist Electronic Security (ES) division of Securitas has made three appointments in the first few weeks of 2021. David Tracey, Thomas Bleasdale and Stephen Dimon have joined the 100-strong team of technicians and support staff – who focus on electronic security and fire safety systems.

Arthur Agnew, Head of Electronic Security at Securitas UK, said: “We have our sights firmly set on the service performance and financial output we expect our ES division to achieve over the coming months and years. With the strategic recruitment of David, Thomas and Stephen, we have strengthened the high-level management of our projects and installations function and expanded our ES sales presence in key UK regions to drive this forward.”

Taking up the role of National Operations Manager, David Tracey is responsible for overseeing Securitas ES installations and projects teams, incorporating stock management, installations planning and in-house and client embedded project management. With over 30 years in the security industry, David has experience in engineering, operations, project management and advisory positions at security installers and latterly, the Ministry of Defence and the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism, part of the Home Office.

David said: “Securitas has an excellent reputation both as a protective services provider and employer. When you add to that the company’s substantial plans for electronic security in the UK, a role within this division at this time offers an exciting combination of established quality and great potential. I’m looking forward to helping my team flourish and play our part in delivering world-class electronic security for Securitas clients.”

Thomas Bleasdale, pictured, and Stephen Dimon, have joined as Business Development Managers. Thomas is based in the North West and is to cover along the M62 corridor; while in London, Stephen is covering the capital and south east of England.

Thomas’s interest in security started early, when his father – an electronic security engineer – took him under his wing as his apprentice. After that, he secured a formal apprenticeship with an installer. Roles in security design and project management then followed (which included works to secure the north west region’s water supply), before his most recent and more sales-focused post as a key account manager.

Like Thomas, Stephen has a pure security background, spending the last eight years with an international building controls company. He has developed a detailed knowledge of the security management systems deployed in a variety of vertical markets including retail, public sector and corporate. His most recent sales and account management role was as a strategic account manager for integrated solutions.

Arthur Agnew added: “Bringing these experienced individuals on board despite the prevailing economic conditions is an indication of how strongly they believe in our electronic security capability and how committed we are to having the best people in our business, to work alongside us in helping to make the world a safer place for our clients. It’s great to have David, Thomas and Stephen as part of our team and all of us are excited for the ongoing development of Securitas’ ES division.”

Securitas UK meanwhile was recently recognised by the Top Employers Institute as a Top Employer 2021. Sarah Hayes, Human Resources Director at Securitas UK, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be officially recognised as a Top Employer for the third year running. We strive to have the best team in the UK security services industry so it’s important that we recruit, train and attract the very best people.”
