RF spectrum monitoring

by Mark Rowe

Cambridge-based CRFS, a supplier of wideband RF spectrum monitoring and surveillance products, has appointed Roy Keeler as Vice President of Sales, North America.

Roy has sales and business development experience in the aerospace, defence and security sectors. He has a track record of B2B and federal sales and of building and leading teams. He served in the US Marine Corps before a career in industry with senior roles at a number of companies including, most recently, General Electric and FLIR Systems. Roy will be in Virginia and will give CRFS Inc an East Coast base to complement its California office.

Alistair Massarella, CEO at CRFS said: “We are delighted to have persuaded Roy to join us. His experience and network are second to none in the sectors we are targeting in North America. Since we opened our California office in 2012, CRFS has made huge progress in the US, winning significant DoD contracts and building some great partnerships. Roy brings exactly the profile we need to help take CRFS to the next level both in federal sales and developing our OEM and integrator business. CRFS has probably the most exciting and innovative product range of any company today in spectrum monitoring, in-place monitoring and SIGINT. Right now, our challenge is to get in front of the right customers and show what we can do. Roy is the guy to help us achieve that.”

CRFS supplies a range of products under its RFeye brand. The RFeye Nexus wideband receiver is the latest addition. It provides up to 100 MHz instantaneous bandwidth from 100 kHz to 18 GHz and a sweep speed of 150 GHz/s. The RFeye Nexus is available in a range of modules with PCIe or VPX connectors and has been designed for easy integration into SIGINT, EW and other critical systems. The products identify and intercept signals that may be suspicious, unauthorized, enemy or interfering; analyze the signal type and characteristics to help define the potential threat; geolocate the transmission source using various well proven techniques. CRFS are headquartered in Cambridge, and have a wholly owned subsidiary in the USA, and agents and distributors. Visit www.crfs.com
