The security and surveillance product company Synectics has appointed a new Rail Business Development Manager to cover the transport and infrastructure market.

Ken Kyle, a rail industry specialist, will provide sales support for Synectics’ rail, light rail and metro client portfolio in the UK and continental Europe.

Ken, pictured right, has delivered passenger and fleet connectivity services since 2009 and established relationships with a range of stakeholders in the rail sector, including ROSCOS (rolling stock companies), train operators and train builders. He said: “Synectics’ integrated surveillance solutions and expertise in the transport sector offers a fantastic opportunity for me to contribute to the ongoing success and deliver an accelerated programme of growth for the business. I am proud to have been asked to join the team and contribute to the continuing success of Synectics in the rail sector at such an exciting time.”

Synectics Sales and Marketing Director, Iain Stringer, pictured left, said: “Rail operators are under greater pressure than ever to keep their operations safe, secure and to provide a positive passenger experience. Our knowledge and experience in delivering on-vehicle, infrastructure and train-to-ground solutions is ideally suited to addressing this challenge, and it is important that we continue to grow the team to support our growth in this market. I am very pleased to welcome Ken to Synectics and look forward to the valuable contribution he will make.”

This appointment follows contract wins for Synectics in the UK and Europe including a fleet-wide surveillance upgrade for Rail for London trams, a contract extension with a north east metro operator to provide on-vehicle surveillance for its light rail and tram services, and a passenger safety systems project with a European railway company.
