by Mark Rowe

CNL Software, a Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software firm, has opened a Middle East Centre of Excellence in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi offering project services and technical support in the region.

The office is in the Incubator Building in Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City, alongside other multinationals such as Siemens, General Electric, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric and Lockheed Martin. Masdar City is developing a “greenprint” for how cities can accommodate denser populations, while seeking to reduce waste, energy and water consumption.

Ahmed Baghoum, director of Masdar Free Zone, said: “We are delighted to welcome CNL Software to our growing cluster of technology innovators at Masdar City, a sustainable, low-carbon urban development that is also home to major international companies. The Masdar Free Zone offers companies such as CNL Software an excellent launching pad for reaching local, regional and international markets from one of the world’s most sustainable living and working urban developments.”

And Daniel Bloodworth, General Manager – CNL Software Middle East, said: “CNL Software has been a pioneer in the expanding PSIM market and we are proud to be associated with other leading visionary companies here in Masdar City. At the same time, we are pleased to announce that we are growing our team even further with the addition of four more staff in the UAE; including the relocation of highly skilled staff from our UK headquarters. CNL Software has already secured a number of strategic projects in the GCC region from Safe City, mass transportation, national security and state-of-the-art buildings through our partners here. Our Centre of Excellence in Masdar City will provide the increase in skills and manpower required to match the delivery and support needs of these partners and their customers.”
