Power product partner

by Mark Rowe

The Cardiff-based distributor Oprema reports a new partnership with LifeSafety Power, which offers power management products with remote monitoring, whether modular AC, DC, or PoE (Power over Ethernet).

LifeSafety Power, an ASSA ABLOY company, takes what was a static hardware device and turns it into a monitored, intelligent networked management product yielding data in physical security and loT applications. LifeSafety Power offers modular, scalable enclosures (FlexPower Unified Power), across application and vertical markets. The company’s products integrate access panels and power modules into an enclosure, featuring pre-engineered, prewired services that can be standardised across the enterprise, the firm adds.

John Olliver, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at LifeSafety Power said: “Power is the pinnacle of an effective physical security system and LifeSafety Power is excited to bring the advantages and flexibility of our product line to Oprema and its customers. The installation community and end-users now have a complete array of cost-saving and intelligent power solutions available with the addition of LifeSafety Power to the Oprema distribution family.”

And Gareth Williams, Sales Director at Oprema said: “We are delighted to welcome LifeSafety Power to our expanding product portfolio, we look forward to stepping into the enterprise level access control market and extending the services we offer to our customers. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

Among LifeSafety Power’s latest products are BiTSTREAM, IEEE 802.3bt-compliant PoE midspan injectors and PoE powered DC power supply/chargers designed for access control and security uses. The two new midspan injectors are the BT500-8 and BT500-16 with eight and 16-ports respectively. With a total power output of 500W, each port of the BT500 can supply up to 90 watts of battery backed-up power to PoE devices such as IP cameras. Remote management allows configuration, monitoring of voltage, current, power, and status of each output through a standard web browser and email.
