Outdoor detectors, NVRs integrate

by Mark Rowe

Dahua Technology’s network video recorders (NVRs, pictured) now integrate with IP-based outdoor detectors from the UK manufacturer GJD. This integration provides users with detector-activated surveillance and monitoring.

The D-TECT IP range of detectors and Clarius PLUS IP illuminators have been integrated with Dahua’s NVR6-4KS2 range, a recorder providing up to 4K resolution. Its open architecture supports multi-user access and it works with ONVIF 2.4, enabling interoperability when combined with third-party 4K cameras.

The NVR includes intelligent video analytics to detect and analyse people and moving objects, as well as other pre-determined events, such as abandoned or missing objects, tripwire detection, people counting and facial recognition. The integration was achieved by incorporating GJD’s API on a special firmware that enables the NVR to accept alarms from the detectors and link them to the recorder’s functions.

The BS8418-compliant IP detectors are suitable the makers say for intruder monitoring, CCTV surveillance and other alarm warning, providing volumetric and long-range narrow field-of-view sensing, plus remote programming.

Eric Wang, Head of Product Support for Dahua UK & Ireland, said: “We are pleased to have integrated our class-leading NVRs with GJD’s IP detectors, providing a professional detection and alarm monitoring solution that is a fantastic addition to our security portfolio.”

And Mark Tibbenham, GJD’s Managing Director said: “We are delighted to partner with Dahua Technology, a world-leading CCTV solutions and video surveillance product provider. The integration of Dahua’s surveillance products with GJD’s D-TECT IP motion detectors and Clarius illuminators will provide users with high-quality, reliable and efficient surveillance solutions.”
