ONVIF, the US-based standards initiative for IP-based physical security products, will provide its perspective at the Intersec Future Security Summit 2019, part of Intersec 2019, running from January 20 to 22, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Per Björkdahl, Chairman of the ONVIF Steering Committee, will participate in a panel discussion in the Al Multaqua Ballroom, “Seamless Integration of Innovative Security Systems with Traditional Infrastructure,” on Sunday, January 20 at 2:30pm. Attendees will learn how to deploy a holistic solution to meet the needs of both security and operations in an industrial organisation through the development of an integrated security strategy. Björkdahl will be joined by moderator Adil Abdel Hadi, Director Operations and Development – Security Training Cadre Centre, Dubai Police Academy; and panelists Simon Whitehouse, Managing Director, SGW Safety and Security; Eng. Arif Al Janahi of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) and Eng. Mohamed Salih, also of SIRA.

Stuart Rawling, Head of Segment Marketing at Pelco and ONVIF steering committee member, will also discuss the real meaning of various industry buzzwords and, as these meanings evolve, how to best plan for and mitigate risk in light of the evolution of new technology. His presentation, “Organising the Data Chaos – The Impact of the New World of Connected Devices on the Real World,” runs at 3:30pm on the Sunday, day one of the annual show.

Björkdahl said: “ONVIF is excited to participate in these sessions that address two diverse but crucial areas facing our industry. It is our hope that, by providing interoperability through our different profiles, the industry will transition to easier integrations, and in turn be able to focus on new solutions for specific challenges.”
