License Plate Recognition partner

by Mark Rowe

Fresh from announcing a partnership with Indian video management software company, Videonetics, VIVOTEK adds another new License Plate Recognition (LPR) partner in Spanish-based video management company, Neural Labs.

Neural Labs was established in 2005, and has a track record in LPR. The entrepreneur-led company has more than 15 years of experience in optical character recognition (OCR) systems. Based on their Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) / Automatic Container Code Recognition (ACCR) technology, Neural Labs provides a hardware independent system for detecting and reading license plates from cars, container IDs and train IDs, as well as hazard plates, and returns this information to the client’s software application. This can be integrated with VIVOTEK’s network cameras and to reinforce the security in petrol stations, border control, and traffic law enforcement.

Elias Valcarcel, Neural Labs CEO, said: “This partnership demonstrates a shared vision between Neural Labs and VIVOTEK, and VIVOTEK is absolutely the top-tier player in the video surveillance marketplace. Our customers will be able to quickly access real-time monitoring of license plates from VIVOTEK’s intelligent network cameras and further take advantage of 98pc reliability rating on LPR via Neural Labs’s Automatic Recognition Engines.”

And William Ku, Vice president, Brand Business Division, VIVOTEK Inc. said: “To maximize customer efficiencies and capabilities, VIVOTEK strives to cooperate with innovative technology partners.” William Ku went on to add, “The partnership combines Neural Labs’ expertise in LPR technology and superior performance of VIVOTEK’s IP surveillance solutions to deliver new-levels of traffic monitoring solutions and drive potential growth in the global market.”
